Electricity usage - I believe this money comes out the the university budget. Anyway, change the timers so that lights do not stay on so late. I have seen this place lit up long after 10 PM. Also, people could turn off their computer monitors at night.

We should begin to analyze our elec resources (databases, standing orders) for cancellation. We should begin looking at use statistics systematically and proactively analyze by subject area rather than react as renewals come in.

Could we stop providing electronic reserves services? Faculty can upload their own electronic articles to Blackboard. I know you'll think this is crazy, but I'm throwing it out there.

To help reduce the number of ILL requests, I propose that we ask David Walker to create a Mango page that displays when the user clicks on the "We'll get a copy for you" link. The page would present some books owned by the library that have the same subject heading as the book that the user wishes to order using ILL. There would be some wording explaining what the cost of a typical interlibrary loan transaction is and suggesting that the user consider books that are already in the library before going ahead with the interlibrary loan.
